  • It has been over 40 years since I was kid surviving on the streets of Northern Ireland, during The Troubles. Despite my age, I had developed an uncanny ability to notice the moment when a situation tipped over into extreme danger. I was moving while other people were still looking around.

Reading a Room is still something I do automatically, capturing the relevant information from what people mean, rather than what they are saying.

My Room will allow you to discover the five blind spots that cause external distractions that hold us back from paying attention to the critical non-verbal happening in every situation.

  • MY ROOM

    1. The Room. Every room we enter changes before we say a word, because we throw a shadow ahead of us. Everyone in the room feels it. We do not, which means every read we make is contaminated by the one presence we cannot see. Ours.

    2. Certainty. We stare at the things in the room that will never change quietly. Bedrock does not need watching. While we are transfixed by what is certain, the one thing actually moving goes unread.

    3. Curiosity. We treat ignorance in the room as a threat and cover it fast. Ignorance is where the information lives. The question no one has asked is the most valuable thing in the room, and we walk past it to stand near the answers.

    4. Confidence. Confidence is loud, and we keep noticing it. It does not need our attention. Baseline noise never does. The moment worth catching is when a bell that always rings goes silent, and we miss it because we were listening to the ringing.

    5. Clarity. We mistake the first clean answer for simplicity. Real clarity is rare, the kind of simple that lives on the far side of complexity and can be explained with a crayon. We stop at the echo and call the room read.

  • MY ROOM — The Program

All of our programs operate within a metaphor. This is part of the initial activation methodology. My Room uses the metaphor of the hunter at the waterhole, where we will begin with the shadow you throw into every room and end with a leveraged attention to the external distractions that keep the room unread. Every room carries the same flood of noise, but the presence you project into it, your somatic X-factor, is yours alone, built biographically through repetition.

Five sessions help you take five liabilities and leverage them into expanded attention to how you read the room.

    · The Somatic Room: Calibrate the X-factor you project into every space
    · Somatic Certainty: Dismiss what will not change quietly
    · Somatic Curiosity: Target the questions no one has asked
    · Somatic Confidence: Ignore the bells no one needs to tell time anymore
    · Somatic Clarity: Catch the rare simplicity on the far side of complexity
