Field Notes #21
My Now Blind Spots
Alongside this Field Note is my My Now Snapshot, and a change of layer. My Success was awareness of the subconscious. My Instincts is attention to the somatic. I am wearing glasses in this one, against my producer's wishes, because it is about the senses.
ATTENTION, NOT AWARENESS
It is not about understanding what is there. It is about feeling what is there — and not with sight. I am reaching for these with the sixth sense of gut, not thinking about them. When did you last ask your body how it was doing?
Five, Internal
The cover is the wolf. For the record: I do the exercises daily, as part of Beyond Mastery. My sheet header reads T.O.E. Jehovah Jireh; my word for 2026 is abundance; 2025 was simple, and I write the date every day. When I miss, I write missed.
Data — checked, not deadly. I get distracted by seasons of the big picture. I hold three passports, and in 2026 the American one is making a lot of noise. The check is: this too will pass. On my deathbed, the headlines will not be top of mind. More than a shrug, less than a red line.
Signals — THE RED LINE. Trauma taught me disembodiment; PTSD therapy gave me my body back. I have a high pain threshold and a lifetime of pushing through, and for years I burned out and got sick every six weeks to three months because I ran at the red line every day. I am fifty-five, and this body has taken a lot of impact. So I check in every day and throughout the day. If I put myself out of play, I cannot help anybody.
Planning — A SHRUG. Stage One and 100 Strong are tattoos. You cannot wash them off. If you get hit by my commitment to my big rocks, you could have moved.
Stillness — not a shrug, because it takes work. My stillness exercises offend people trained in traditional meditation: instead of releasing attachments, I glue my hands to them and walk into the middle of the storm. I forget that collides, because I live in it.
Restlessness — A SHRUG. First make your bed, then do the next thing. It is a sixth-grade expectation. If you will not, I collide with you, apologize, and still think you should grow up and make your bed.
"These take just over ten minutes because you want to get it into the somatic layer. You've got to do reps." — Robert (Sherpa) Millar
By the end of this, you will see the difference between the two series in your own hands. You do not think your way to these. You feel for them, with a breath of attention, and then you do it again tomorrow.

If this is your first one in the series, go back to #18. It is good to see the sequence work.
