Imperative Crisis Blind Spots
Alongside this Field Note is the end of the set — eleven videos, fifty blind spots, and one thing I didn’t plan and didn’t see coming until I was making these.
THAT'S A CONFESSION
I cheated. The Butterfly Effect Snapshots are meant to carry four, and in #26 and #27 I took the top line and made it a blind spot anyway. Then here is why it is not cheating: the meta-meaning of a whole block can itself become a blind spot for the person carrying it. Did I get away with it, or did I find something coming out of the cocoon?
One Red Line, One Bookend, and Two That Should Not Exist

Drive — THE RED LINE. A shark with a rocket-fueled engine. I do not have to try to get out of bed. I have trouble staying in it. Up at two this morning, back down at four, awake at five, alarm at six. That is not a brag. That is a confession, because people do not like it, and it collides. And there is an imperative in it — this is where meaning is found for me. The butterfly effect is changing something far away by beating your own small wings, and you do that by being you.
Purpose / Position — not a blind spot. A bookend. An imperative to put effort into both. Meaning requires success as well; you do not get to reject position because you have found purpose. Scott Galloway's version is the one I use: you can have it all, just not all at once. You have to take turns — and you have to do both for the command performance to fill out.
The meta blind spots — new, and kept. They emerged from my own lived formation, and I didn't spot them until I made these videos. I have added blind spots to the fifty that should not exist. I will not re-record #26 and #27. Part of a command performance is that you formed, and things changed.
